The Swiss Side in Iten is the perfect place for your training camp in Kenya. Our high altitude international center welcomes visitors from all around the world all the year round.

Regularly placed as the best training camp of the village of Iten, our center provides you all facilities needed by runners for a successful training camp in high altitude: cryotherapy, sauna, traditional Kenyan massages, gym for runners and a scenic restaurant at its top, offering a unique view of the village of Iten.

The Kenya Experience mindset, symbolized by the famous “Go Hard or Go Home” is experienced daily by the runners on the red soil roads around Iten. In the running groups of the village, you can train with world and Olympic champions and sometimes world record holders. A unique experience that might allow you to find the secret of Kenyan running, and answer to that famous question: why are Kenyan runners so fast ?

Runners especially appreciate to visit mythical locations around such as the Kamariny stadium, which has a really unique history and re-opened in February 2023. Another point of interest of Iten – Home of Champions is the visit of the St-Patrick School where the story of running in Kenya has begun in 1961. If you are lucky, you might meet Brother Colm O’Connell and visit the Museum of the high school.

The variety of services proposed at The Swiss Side is wide. The runners especially appreciate our cryotherapy ice bath, as well as the sauna. This offer is unique around the Rift Valley and overally in Kenya. It allows a quick recovery for the runners, after their track session and their long runs. Visitors in Iten also appreciate to rent a bicycle among one of our Mountain Bikes and Gravels models, allowing them to visit the surroundings of Iten in the best conditions.
